"Hello, My name is Christian Edwards. I am a 22-year old college Junior living in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Throughout the roughly year-long mentorship program with Ms. Moore, I was able grow and develop lifelong goals, as well as my speaking and social skills.

As the middle guy in a large family, I was used to being talked over and overlooked, but being in this group helped me open up and learn how to value myself and use my voice. I genuinely think that without this program, and the lessons I learned from it I would still be stuck in some bad relationships and would have let opportunities for advancement in my career slip by. It was also Katrina who encouraged me and my peers to continue our college education, even when I’d had a very discouraging experience.

Being in this program was amazing on a wholistic level, as each month we focused on a different topic to help us better ourselves; whether it be deep personality examinations by professionals, getting together several panels of entrepreneurs for us to interview, or simply being there when we needed someone trustworthy to confide in. She also would encourage us to reach out to her for updates on how things were going, and on plenty of occasions would just call to check in on us. Even after we completed the program, she continued to reach out to us for updates, and I felt like she was genuinely concerned about our wellbeing, mental, physical, and spiritual health.

I’m so glad that I was able to take part in this program, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this program to anybody struggling with their plans for the future. Katrina is more than capable of equipping you with the skills needed to succeed as a young adult. She’s a caring mentor who makes every individual in the Sar P.R.E.P program feel at home, and genuinely cares for all participants involved."
